Introduction - To Being Unemployed

There is an old saying “There is nothing new under the sun” and this, of course, will apply to all jobs and vocations which can be offered.
This article contains a multitude of them and one cannot for a moment believe that you have not considered one or more.
How many of you, for instance, have considered lawn-mowing? – I venture to suggest a lot, both men and women have considered that at one stage or another..
The secret, or art of success is in YOUR APPROACH to the subject – and it is in this approach, all most carefully explained, is the KEY to your success.
Etiquette – Politeness – Good Manners
These qualities were all propped from the school curriculum decades ago, and what is the result today?
I am now generalizing and these remarks are not directed at any one person or groups of people – certainly not you, the reader, but, in general I find many people with whom I come in contact with, whether personally or via email etc to be:
BelligerentAggressiveCantankerous
FOR SUCCESS the opposite for each of these words MUST be applied – applied in our every action of daily living. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR in your life if you desire to succeed.
Instead of walking down the street with a scowl on your face, try a smile, smile at the person approaching you and give him or her a cheerful “Good Morning”. Surprise of surprises – in 9 cases out of 10 a smiling “Good Morning” will be returned.
The 10th person will mutter or grunt or completely ignore you, but, if you pass this 10th person 2 or 3 more times with your smiling “Good Morning” he or she will succumb and respond accordingly.
Does this little exercise convey anything to you?
Deep down you will know whether you have to change the whole of your character, or perhaps just a portion of it. It will be useless to skip reading these few words. Hard they may appear to some but after all the outcome is for your success or failure.
The education system has a lot to answer for.
Now, assuming you fill this category of a ‘polite man or woman, with good manners, you can put these attributes to work favorably on your behalf.
So simple, – after all it is only good old fashioned courtesy, which will shine through all the belligerences of today’s world and will win for you.
Of course courtesy does embody a little more than its title. One such subject is punctuality. You must adhere to a time which you give to a client.
If you make an appointment to meet a client at 2.30, at 2.30 YOU ARE THERE. Or make a phone call beforehand, apologize and arrange a new time. This applies with ALL vocations.
It is a sad reflection of our times that at the time this article is being prepared, unemployment is escalating at an alarming rate. Half a million jobs lost in the USA just last month. A world recession and it’s only likely to get worse as time progresses.
The source of its origin is solely the fault of the Governments of this world. However, that’s the world we all live in and I’m not getting into politics or religions etc.
Do not despair. There is hope and good hope for those who apply the principals outlined here. If you study this website and take to heart an idea for which you may have a special aptitude, you will most likely be successful.
The majority of ideas and items being covered on this site can be undertaken by ANYONE. No high degree of educational skill is required… BUT
A full 100% of diligence should always be given.
Politeness at all times should always be shown to your customers and while we all know your remuneration is a most important factor of your efforts, it should never be obvious from your manner and behavior that …..” it’s only the money you want”.
It is possible to perform some minor task without ever thinking of reward but, then, on deeper reflection this could really be classed to be in harmony with politeness and good behavior – features which are becoming less and less as time marches by. However, YOU can help to stem the tide and turn it into a lucrative business for yourself.
You are unemployed at the moment.
No one even looks at or responds to your applications for work.
YOU do not have to follow this impolite attitude.
YOU are going to be different.
Be the first person to acknowledge politely, ANY offers you might receive, be punctual for any meetings and appointments. Notify the customer if there is a change with your arrangements and you will be unable to get to a certain destination at a certain time etc. etc.
This may all seem minor at the moment … BUT ….you may now be embarking on a business, undreamed of a short while back and good customer relationship is vital to any business undertaking. No matter what type of business you choose.
Do not overlook these points – they ARE important. Keep them well in mind and you are well on your way to success.
A number of suggestions that appear here, you will classify as obvious, but study well. There will be ideas here that you will not have considered too.
