Beware of the System Pushers
Be aware
of what you buy!
It falls on you, 'The Punter' to learn, and know, exactly how to
invest your money on the selections you make. Long gone, I hope are the
days when a punter simply increases his stake 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. or even
more foolish 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 etc. - of course after a losing bet. These
methods will (observe I have said WILL and not CAN) lead prospective
punters to the bankruptcy courts, faster than the horses on which they
bet.
A little about System Pushers and their advertising methods
System Pushers disguise everything in such glowing terms that many
pitfalls are not readily evident. Don't be lulled by any advertisement
offering systems, methods etc. I will just touch on how these operators
work but at the outset let me again say:
NO SYSTEM HAS YET BEEN DEVISED THAT WILL WIN ALL THE TIME.
The literature going along with almost any system bought, and I don't
care from where they originate, will be a staking plan and there in lies
the ammunition for the glowing terms the system pushers have been able
to use when exemplifying the amazing opportunity now in your hands.
So called actual results will be shown and then it will be suggested
you increase your stake after a loser 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. or perhaps 1, 1
1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2, 4 and then the so called actual results - with
a staking plan as just suggested you will be given losing sequences of 3
or 4 or 5 and then ALWAYS followed by quite a high priced winner such as
6-1- or 8-1 and you will always notice that by the time 5 units or so
are being invested on an animal, an 8-1 or similar winner will be shown
- hence you are 40 units in pocket, less your losing bets.
Try substituting say 6-4 or 2-1 (as they probably were) - just see
how the system stands up in these circumstances.
Don't be mesmerized by a big priced winner following a loser - the
longer the run the better the figures.
Then you have poor honest John the system pusher who has your
interest solely at heart - he has a plan based on safety, and it
certainly is safety whereby it is suggested that your stake money is
only increased AFTER a winner as opposed to a loser. Now I agree to this
maxim, but in giving examples to boost the system being sold, your run
of horses (so called actual results) will suddenly be similar to WON,
WON, WON, WON, L.L.L.L WON, WON, LL.
You are certainly going to be shown long winning sequences as this
means increased stakes going on which in turn reflects much higher wins
to boost the manual being sold.
The object of these examples is to make you wary of this type of
advertisement. Large price winners will always be shown after a long
losing run when it is advocated that an increased stake be employed
after a loser or for the other type of staking i.e. increase the stake
after a win, long winning sequences will always be employed. When
assessing these advertisements do a little mathematics yourself, in the
first instance substitute say a 2-1 or 6-4 in place of 8-1 or any other
big priced winner - And THEN see how the results multiply out..."
